Today's adventure lead me to find out if my 1974 304 would even crack over let alone start. First luck would have it, in has oil still in it. Good sign. Had to find a battery, mind my future plans are a 401 I have sitting on the ground close by so I purchased a battery with that in mind.
My son hooked up the battery sure enough the motor cracked. We splashed a bit of gas and it gave us a few chugs of life.
Now we need to look at those fuel lines etc. Maybe we can get it running soon.

And it begins...

Green lights, drag pipes
I am looking at my son, he is weeks away from 15. Now he is normal teenager for all intent. This said I find his mechanical knowledge lacking. At his age I bought my first car. We (my father and I) took a year to get it running. I blew up the transmission in two weeks.
I decided "he' needed me to buy a car to work on. Something with history and that I can still turn a wrench on. Not plug into a computer.
Welcome to me being way over my head and money gone. This could be the best or worse choice I have ever made.
